The electric companies have way too much power. @AEPOhio literally shut off peoples electric in a heat 🌊 in some of the poorest communities. Thankfully my in laws had electric and we were able to take the kids there but for the families with no other options I empathize. #ohio

Stop calling what @AEPOhio is doing “rolling blackouts.” That’s not what this is. To be a rolling blackout it has to actually move around. They just shut off power to a huge portion of the poorest areas of the city for what sounds like will be DAYS unannounced.

If you have a monopoly on a city’s power grid, and you can’t sustain the entire city drawing AC when it’s >90F outside, then you’ve failed at your job. @MayorGinther should be treating @AEPOhio’s decision to intentionally black out even a single house in Columbus as exactly that

@Bcarp3 @AEPOhio I walked golfing yesterday 9 holes at noon found out it was 109 degree heat index . I had 3 waters and a smoothie before and 2 waters during. Twice thought was going to pass out and on 9 th tee felt like I had never worked out and I work out daily ! Hot hot hot 🥵

@sween719 @AEPOhio It is city wide rolling blackouts because AEP infrastructure is ****. One storm caused this. It's really just them not being prepared for this situation. Just clowns taking our money and not investing it in a robust and sustainable grid.

@AEPOhio Crews have been “en route” for 1 hour & 20 minutes. Columbus isn’t that big, so apparently crews aren’t “standing by” or they’d be on scene working to fix the outage by now.

@AEPOhio my power is out again for the second time in less than a week. The first time it was out for 12 1/2 hours in with below freezing temps AND I had to throw all my food away. Somebody better get my power on quick because I cannot afford to throw away any more food!!

@cafejimatorium @AEPOhio (Obviously not speaking for AEP) I think there were a few residential customers on time-of-day pricing (like less than 100 out of a million customers) but that ended with the last case. The trick is with distribution and generation separate, a supplier has to do it too.

@AEPOhio Outage Again 2x in 3 days. Safety issues were reported 12/21/22 at 9:43am about issues with Trees . Still never even looked at by #aepohio . Obviously, there's an infrastructure problem along with your #safetydepartment . This is starting to become ridiculous

@BrianTFinch @AEPOhio Haven't lived all over the planet but I have lived all over Ohio, including Cleveland. I thought Cleveland Public Power was bad, but AEP is by far the worst. Second outage in under a week. I can kinda understand today's with some high winds but there was no reason for Sat/Sun.
