Single Stream Recycling is an automated sorting process designed to handle non-hazardous items from your kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, office and mailbox. The recyclables are then collected and transported to a material recovery facility where they are sorted and processed.

Pesticides are considered hazardous waste and should be disposed of properly at the hazardous waste collection facility. If empty they can be placed in the garbage.

Cans containing products such as turpentine, mineral spirits, denature alcohol and paint thinners have hazardous material residue and if empty, should be disposed of in your garbage.

Spray cans that contained spray paint, lubricants, carburetor fluid and similar petroleum-based products must be disposed of in your garbage if empty. If they still contain liquid please take to a Household Hazardous Waste location.

Just like plastic shopping bags, these bags will tangle in the sorting equipment causing damage and downtime. Since they are dirty they should NOT be taken to the grocery store collection sites.

No Mixed Material Packages
Packaging around toys, tools and batteries is made of cardboard and clear plastic. Since the materials are mixed they cannot be recycled. If the plastic is separated from the cardboard, please recycle the cardboard and place the plastic in the garbage.
