Spacious Skies Shenandoah Views - Luray Campground (2024)

Tent camped here, was super impressed by the place - pretty, clean, fun - and the deluxe tent site was impressive too with a picnic table under a pergola and a light that was dim enough to be just yours and still bright enough to see by. The only thing i disliked was how close the sites were to each other, I knew going in they were close but I wasn't staying long enough to care. If i were staying multiple nights and planned to be around camp a lot I'd recommend picking one of the outside sites in the line up so you're only close to one group. Other than that though, I really liked the place and would definitely stay again!

This campground was one of the most peaceful and pretty campgrounds we have been to. Lovely views of the mountains with expansive fields all around. Can watch the cows and llamas too!The dog park was massive. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was nice. Didn’t get the chance to try out the pool or laundry.It was a very short drive into the town of Luray. The road leading up to the campground is a bit tight, so drive slow and be prepared to pull off and let oncoming traffic go by if you have a larger truck/RV.

10/10 camping experience! We stayed at the deluxe tent site. The bathrooms were extremely clean. The kitchen clean up area behind the bathhouse was amazing. There was a field of sheep and an alpaca right behind our tent. Great location, about 25 minutes to skyline drive, 45 minutes to old rag (do it!!!! It’s worth it). Keep driving down kimball road for 5 minutes and get some great long lasting wood for a local man. Next time, I would bring a tarp to put over the pergola for rain protection.

Very lovely little campground nestled between pastures. The staff were awesome! The facilities were great. The restrooms were clean and our campsite was very level, and it looked like most other campsites are pretty level too. There is a bouncy pillow, a playground, pool, arcade and a small building with two pool tables in it (free). I could tell the staff here takes pride in their campground as it was litter free. The views of the mountains in the distance were awesome! Just a couple things to note if you camp here: The road from where you check in to where the campsites are narrows to a single lane. I never saw an issue, but if a vehicle is coming out at the same time one is coming up, one of the vehicles will have to back up to let the other pass. The second is shade. Many sites had good shade. Some had none. So if shade is important for you (like us...we have a hybrid camper and the tent material is not very insulating!), then make sure you inquire about a shady site when reserving. Oh, and one last thing, there are firepits at each site, but no grills. I have a round grill topper I bring whenever I camp, so it was no issue, but if you plan to grill, and do not bring your own grill, you'll need to get a grill topper.

First off, I was really tempted to rate this place a 4 because we reserved a 6 person cabin that was really only a 4 person cabin. The front office quickly fixed it but the fix was to bring 2 roll away beds. One of my kids ended up sleeping in the bathroom on the rollaway. It was fine but had I known, I would have reserved the bigger cabin which was actually a 6 person. Despite that mix up, we had a great time. The bathrooms were spotless. The staff was really nice but not uppity. My kids loved the giant inflatable pillow. It was a little further from the national park than I would have liked (40 minutes). The site itself was beautiful. If we come back to the area, this will be a high contender for a repeat visit, unless we can find something a bit closer to the park. All in all we had a great time. And I'd recommend to friends.
