Received a call from Emily stating she was from Merchant Services regarding Visa and Mastercard increasing their rates on our June statement. She asked for our statement which I did not send. I called our provider and they stated they are receiving numerous calls regarding this matter and it is a scam. The Caller ID showed Chelle Comm with the number 469-253-0022. I looked up Chelle Comm and they are a merchant services company so I presume they are calling to try persuade you to switch providers. However, they are very deceitful by presenting themselves as your merchant services provider. (live person)

Crystal, ext. 421, called from Merchant Services said we were due a refund as we were overcharged. She asked about our May and June bank statements. I didn't have them at the time, so I took her information and extension number. Neither of our processors would call with this generic statement nor refer to our bank 'statements' for substantiation. When I called the number back, from a different phone, it was a typical phone tree response with the generic company name of Merchant Services. Be wary! (live person)

Doris called and left message on voicemail stating she was with Merchant Services, that we had been over billed and for us to call her back at 800-490-7479 ext 604. The message I heard on that number was from a guy named Tony. He just called me and wanted me to send them a copy of the May or June statement with a "corrections code" and the dollar amount of how much we'd been over charged. ($282.12) I asked him why I had to send them a copy of my statement since they're the ones that sent it to me and he said it was protocol because it had been more than 90 days since the over charge. THIS IS A SCAM!!! He was quite a fast talker and had an excuse for every question I asked. Also, his called ID showed Private Name/Private Number! (live person)

Received this on my business line, lady said I was overcharged on my merchant account which is run by Square so unlikely. Number that came up on ID was 650-502-8952, number she said to call back was 800-490-7479 ext 7062. Thought I would check online first, I was correct. (live person)

Lakeshia, was from Merchant Services. She said that the rates are increased once or twice a month because of Visa and Mastercard. My customer called me with this info. I told her the credit card company she was with does not call her to tell her that. And the company she is with does not raise the rates, anyway. (robocall / recorded message)

Mariah from 'merchant services' was very forward in her voicemail. Called back, I know you're not supposed to, talked to Jared who transferred me. Left her a forward, yet professional, message myself. Would love to block this number permanently. (robocall / recorded message)
